Treatment in Southwest Riverside County
Riverside County is large — it runs from the edge of Los Angeles County to the Arizona border — so “rehab in Riverside County can mean somewhere two hours from you.
Dunn Recovery is in Wildomar, between Lake Elsinore and Murrieta, just off the I-15. For most of the populated southwest of the county it is under half an hour. These are drive times to our one location, not other facilities:
Treatment takes place in Wildomar. We do not have other sites, and nobody is moved between buildings partway through a stay.
Two levels of care
Dunn Recovery is licensed by the California Department of Health Care Services for detox and residential treatment. Both happen in the same house.
Detox
The first few days, while the body clears the substance. Alcohol, opioids including heroin and fentanyl, benzodiazepines, cocaine and methamphetamine. Staff on site around the clock.
Residential Treatment
Living at the house for the length of your stay, with individual counselling, small group sessions and a daily routine. It follows detox without a transfer.
Alongside those we work on dual diagnosis, couples treatment, trauma and family involvement. See all our programs →
Six questions worth asking any facility in Riverside County
Including us. Treatment websites look much the same as each other, and the things that actually differ are rarely the things on the front page. These are the questions that separate them.
Ask for the licence number, and check it
Every residential and detox facility in California is licensed by the Department of Health Care Services, and every licence has a number you can verify on the state register. A facility that will not give you one over the phone is telling you something.
Dunn Recovery: DHCS licence 330221AP, valid through 31 July 2028.
Ask what levels of care they are licensed for
Licences are specific. Detox, residential, outpatient and sober living are separate things, and a facility advertising all four is not necessarily licensed for all four. Ask which ones are on the licence rather than which ones are on the website.
Dunn Recovery is licensed for detox and residential treatment.
Ask how many beds
Size changes the experience more than anything else on a brochure. Thirty beds and six beds are different kinds of place, and neither is automatically better — but you should know which one you are calling.
Dunn Recovery has six beds in one house.
Ask where treatment actually happens
A facility listing several cities may be running one building and advertising a radius. That matters if you are planning visits, or if someone is going to need collecting at the end.

Ask whether they are in network before you ask anything else
Out of network does not mean uncovered — most PPO plans pay a share — but it does mean a different conversation about cost. Any facility should tell you plainly, on the first call, without being pushed.
Dunn Recovery is out of network with every carrier, and works with PPO plans on an out-of-network basis.
Is Dunn Recovery the right fit?
We would rather say no on the phone than part-way through an admission. Roughly, this is how that conversation goes.
We are probably a fit if
- Stopping at home has been tried and has not held
- Withdrawal needs supervision — particularly alcohol or benzodiazepines
- A small, quiet setting suits better than a large facility
- There is a mental health condition alongside the substance use
- You are in or near southwest Riverside County
We will refer you elsewhere for
- You need outpatient treatment, which we do not provide
- You need sober living housing, which we do not provide
- You need methadone maintenance, which requires a certification we do not hold
- Hospital-level medical care is needed alongside treatment
- You have an HMO plan, Medi-Cal, Medicare or Medicaid
In any of those cases, call anyway. We will tell you what to look for and where to start.
Paying for Treatment
Dunn Recovery is out of network with all insurance providers
We work with most PPO plans on an out-of-network basis. We will check your benefits for free, by phone, and tell you what your plan is likely to cover before you commit to anything.
Payment plans are available. Please do not send policy numbers or medical details through a web form — call us and we will take them over the phone.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where in Riverside County are you?
22650 Lost Road, Wildomar, California 92595, in the southwest of the county between Lake Elsinore and Murrieta. It is our only location.
What treatment do you provide?
Detox and residential treatment, both licensed by the California Department of Health Care Services under licence 330221AP.
Do you serve Temecula, Murrieta and Lake Elsinore?
Yes — people come to us from across southwest Riverside County. Treatment itself takes place at our house in Wildomar; we do not have facilities in other cities.
Do you offer outpatient or sober living?
No. We are licensed for detox and residential treatment only. If outpatient care or sober housing is what you need, we will say so and help you find it.
How big is the facility?
Six beds, in one house. That is a deliberate choice rather than a limitation.
Can someone be admitted the same day?
Often, when it is clinically appropriate and a bed is free. Because we are small, the person answering the phone knows immediately what is available.
Do you take insurance?
We are out of network with all carriers and work with most PPO plans on an out-of-network basis. We check benefits at no cost. We cannot accept HMO plans, Medi-Cal, Medicare or Medicaid.
How do I check a facility is properly licensed?
California publishes a register of licensed residential and detox facilities. Ask any facility for its DHCS licence number and look it up. Ours is 330221AP.
Call and we will tell you what we can do
Someone answers 24 hours a day. The first call is a conversation, not a sales pitch — if we are not the right place, we will say so.
